Plans could lead to new flats in Essex

There may be an increase in the number of flats for sale in Essex if plans for a new development
go ahead.
Wharf Land Investments is proposing a scheme under which around 165
homes would be constructed, the Essex County Standard
reports.
A planning application will be lodged by the firm once a public
exhibition has taken place and any possible changes have been
made.
Local councillor John Sharp commented: "From the council's point of
view, we know there is going to be some development there sooner or
later, so it is about getting the maximum possible benefits out of
it for the community."
As well as new properties, the proposals include provisions for the
creation of shops and offices.
If the development moves forward, demand for the homes may be high,
with director of Churchouse Family Planning Keith Churchouse
recently suggesting that consumers in the UK now see property as a
good thing to invest in.
