Gardens can 'add value' to properties

Property values could be boosted by as much as 20 per cent if they
have a reasonably large garden, a spokesperson for Gardener's World
Magazine has said.
Lucy Hall stated that "families in particular are crying out for
safe and private space", whether they are in a town or the
countryside.
She noted that the appearance of a garden can also affect a buyer's
decision and recommended that sellers de-clutter their outside
space before a viewing.
In addition, they could plant easy-grow seeds such as poppies to
add colour to the garden and clear any dead plants and weeds, Ms
Hall suggested.
A recent survey from Lloyds TSB Insurance revealed that hot tubs
are the item British people would most like to have in their
garden, followed by decking and a water feature.
